Facebook vs Website: Which is More Effective? | Get Real, Naked 12

Hey guys Lilia Tarawa here, so this morning we had a question come in and that question was ‘I’ve started a start-up, do I use a blog or website and set that up or should I use a Facebook page? Which is most effective to market my business? so there’s lots of different components we can look at here however t the right answer to that really is both because you want to be on as many platforms as possible however there are some other things that you need to be aware of before you can make a decision about this. The woman didn’t want to do both because she said ‘well I want to take one step at a time in building my business’ and I understand that she feels like she doesn’t have a lot of time but you know I understand you might be busy however maybe I can help you see another perspective that is going to get you the result that you want by giving you some more information about this particular issue so the reason I say both because you need to be you need to be discoverable to your audience however it is very important for you to understand that, you know, and became keenly aware of who your audience actually is because that will dictate what platform they are currently on, how if an older demographic they might use blogs and websites a lot more however if it’s a younger demographic they probably spend a lot more of their time on social media platforms so you need to be really keenly aware of who your target audience is the other thing is that say when you’re building your Facebook page and you create a post of content or something you can actually now use your blog to distribute that same content or vice verse when you create an article on your blog or a video and you post it up on your blog you can now post that up on the other platform that you’re using to drive traffic to your blog so you can paste post it up on your Facebook page and drive traffic to your blog that may not get or discover your blog online however they will discover your blog through social media because that’s a platform they use and vice verse so you can include your social links on your blog on your website which will drive traffic to your Facebook page so that’s one cool thing you need to be absolutely aware of, the other thing is that Facebook you actually can take a Facebook pixel which is basically a snippet of code and you install it in the header of your website and what this does is it tracks all the traffic that comes to your website so that when you start to advertise and use Facebook dollars to market you can target the audience that has visited your website like how super cool is that? and that’s a technical thing not many of you might be aware of and so that’s why it’s important that you’re actually creating traffic on your blog first and foremost and then using that traffic to advertise on Facebook and I understand the time thing as well so let’s address that the the idea that you feel like you might not have enough time to develop both and you want to go one step at a time the cool thing is about learning is that it’s always going to be you know one foot in front of the other, one step of time anyway so what you can simply do is take one step on your blog and in one step on your Facebook page, one step on your blog, one step on your Facebook page if you have, I mean, if we look really practical at this and you’re like okay cool I’ve got an hour every single day to spend marketing online and building my online presence on my website or on Facebook marketing, spend 30 minutes on your blog and spend 30 minutes on your Facebook page it’s really really simple and super easy guy but really you need to be on as many platforms as you possibly can remember the idea is to make you is discoverable as possible to your audience, you want to make it easy for your audience to find you and to buy from you and the way that you’re going to do that is to be as available as possible on as many platforms as possible including any and all new social media platforms that are coming out so you’ve got to be able to adapt and learn and look at things that are coming out and assess them and quickly take action on them and you’ve got to be fast and you’ve got to be smart about how you do it you need to stop thinking thinking thinking ‘oh what I need this in place, I need that in place, I need that in place you’ve actually got to get on the platforms and become a practitioner and actually begin to use the platforms so I would say you know honestly it takes um you can get someone to set up your blog for fifty bucks on Fiverr.com, go do it today and it will be set up tomorrow like really time should not be an issue Facebook page it takes five minutes to set up a Facebook page constantly maintaining that will take consistent time but like I said you can split your time half here half there, easy simple to do so i hope that’s been really helpful for you guys if you’re wondering which platform you should actually begin to use and helped you to see that you can actually use all of the platform’s together to complement and accentuate each other and expand your online influence even more, if you found this video helpful please Comment, Like or Share and this is Lilia Tarawa if you have a question about online business skills please email me on [email protected], talk to you soon
